Foreign students participating in formal graduate programs like a Master’s or Ph.D. degree at a Turkish higher education institution may now work and apply for a work visa under the New International Labor Force Law. Work permits issued to international students do not affect the validity of their student residence permits or the privileges afforded by these permits.
The Immigration Policies Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs collaborate to develop policies and procedures for hiring international students. These policies and procedures are then implemented. A work permit application from an international graduate of a Turkish university will be examined in line with the standards set out by the International Labour Policy Advisory Board if submitted within one year of their graduation date.
