ELLT Exam Structure and Our Training Modules
The ELLT exam consists of four sections. In our programme we develop special strategies for each section:
Stage 1: Reading
- Content: academic text analysis in about 40 minutes.
- Our training: techniques for finding answers quickly in a text (Scanning) and grasping the main idea (Skimming). Strengthening complex academic vocabulary.
Stage 2: Listening
- Content: comprehension and analysis based on recorded audio files.
- Our training: note-taking skills in a digital environment and practice in distinguishing different accents.
Stage 3: Writing
- Content: writing an academic essay on a given topic.
- Our training: lessons on structural coherence, advanced grammar and the use of connectors, in line with the ELLT’s AI- and expert-examiner-supervised writing criteria.
Stage 4: Speaking (Live Interview)
- Content: a live video interview with an examiner.
- Our training: this is the most critical part of the ELLT. At Study First Academy, we run one-to-one video rehearsals with our instructors, working on fluency, correct pronunciation and interview psychology.
