English Teaching Certificate

TEFL - TESOL Certificates

TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) are the most fundamental and universal certificates for anyone who wants to teach English around the world.

At Study First Academy we do more than give you a certificate; we equip you to teach English with a professional methodology to students of every age, anywhere in the world.

What Are TEFL and TESOL? What Is the Difference?

The two terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a small difference in focus:

TEFL
Designed for teaching English in countries where English is not the native language (e.g. Türkiye, China, Brazil).
TESOL
Covers teaching English both to immigrants in English-speaking countries and to learners worldwide. It is a broader umbrella term.
Common Ground
Both certificates entitle you to teach at private schools, language centres and online platforms from Thailand to Brazil and from Dubai to Spain.

Study First Academy TEFL & TESOL Prep Programme

Our prep programme follows international accreditation standards (a minimum 120-hour curriculum) and is built on a "Hands-on Training" model that makes candidates confident from the moment they walk into the classroom.

    • Learning Styles: How do you reach visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners?
    • Classroom Management: How do you handle crowded classes, mixed age groups and discipline problems?
    • Elicitation: How do you draw the answer out of the student instead of simply giving the information?
  2. Module: Grammar and Skills Teaching

    • Skill Teaching: Building creative lesson flows for reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
    • Grammar and Vocabulary: Techniques for teaching English grammar through gamification and context rather than memorisation.
